Princesses by DarthButtercup
Two little princess twins were born
Half-elven, their mother was scolded and scorned
For everyone knew that no half-elf could be
As beautiful and great a queen as she
The queen had taken a lover dear
Human, the implications were clear
So much hatred her children would know
She knew she had to let them go
Raised in the human world they were
At two years he died, their father
Poisoned by his brother's hand
His three children would inherit the land
For fourteen years the children wondered
What life would be like beyond their noble hold
The girls never knew that they were special

Through Child's Eyes
Part One: Grief
She watched the candles flame flicker feebly in the night, casting strange shadows on the wooden walls. Had she been so naïve, little Evalgine would have feared those dark shapes slowly crawling toward her narrow bed. But there was no time for such childish fears, though a larger one clawed at her. Screams and shouts drifted into the small room Evalgine shared with her younger sister, Hession, and she strongly suspected that the violence outside their home must have been great in order to have such a vocal response from the townspeople. Steady footsteps thumped loudly up the stairs, running, and they came closer an

Saving You. by Walk-On-Water
Sleep now, little one,
close your brilliant eyes,
don't let your father's cruelty
take you by surprise.
Your body may be broken,
but your soul is still so strong,
and it weeps, grins, but falters,
as it sings its mournful song.
Hate can seem so trivial,
when Death is at your door,
and somehow through the pain,
still you asked for more.
The whips, the knives,
The tears and teeth.
The burns and torture,
the blood at your feet.
Every movement impossible,
yet still you held some strength,
to crawl to my standing form,
and hold my heart at arm's length.
One day we'll flee to Heaven,
perhaps even beyond.
But for now, my sw

Kira sat in front of the Television. She had slowly gone off into Lalaland. Nowadays that was all she used cartoons for. She slowly slipped in and out of reality, relaxing bit by bit. Soon she might as well have been asleep, as aware as she was. She didn't hear the person walk over to her. She didn't feel them retrieve the remote from her lap. What she did notice was her blessed cartoons changing to an action show. Kira blinked once, then looked to her right. Hunter was there, holding the remote.
"I was watching that!" In response he gave her a 'come and get it' smirk. She growled and lunged for him. He dodged that attempt, and she j

"Well, Sally, there's not much I can tell you about it. We are advocates of Justice. Not law, but Justice. It's a strict 'what goes around comes around' exercise. If you are being unjust because you are the victim of what goes around, what comes around won't be coming to you. But only as long as you try your best to be honorable.

Jean sat at the bar twirling her stir stick in the drink hed been nursing for the last hour in a daze. It wasnt like her to be like this, but the man who entered her office earlier in the day gave her a strange feeling and she couldnt shake it.
The man had been in to see her boss several times before, but today his face seemed different. She always remembered him as a rather enjoyable fellow, his smile sincere and gestures calm. Today how ever his attitude was different. His smile fake and he didnt carried himself as loftily.
Jay, is everything alright? You havent been up with the girls to chat once.

An opportunistthat is all you are. It is all you have ever been. Now, see where that gets you, Terith said calmly, his hand forming a somewhat lacking grip on the lapels of the man before him. But the strength of Teriths handhold hardly mattered now; his victim was trapped, as it were.
There was virtually no light streaming into the rooma convenient concealment. Even the moonlight could not penetrate the lone, dark window kept in the room. Certainly, if one were to walk in, it would be nearly impossible to pick out the killer and the victim from the surroundings.
The man in Teriths grasp said nothing
It was a sleepy, dark autumn afternoon. The dirty metropolis, London, lay lazily on the sides of its river.
A strange man walked the grey streets, musing to himself. He wore a priests vest, collard and cloak with a pair of blue jeans and, as to make the collection even more unlikely, a pair of laced boots. He had no real destination, so he just went where his legs had brought him, without taking much care about his surroundings. Not the wisest thing to do in a city like London, as he came to realise. When he finally looked up to see where he was he found himself on an alleyway so silent and still, he found it hard to believe that a pla

Well, the contest bombed again. *Sigh* I will try to get this club more active, but it is hard >.>
Thank you to ~DarthButtercup (https://www.deviantart.com/darthbuttercup) and :iconWalk-On-Water: for entering. You will both receive one month subscriptions for participating as there is no winner. Unfortunately, I can't say when I can get these to you, I don't have enough money for two subscriptions right now.

Well, sometimes, if you're writing, you get a really cool idea for a plot, right? Or sometimes you might create a character first and write about them. This club is for writers that do the latter. At least, that's the type of poetry and prose we're accepting. Sorry for replying so late, but it would be helpful if you could ask any future questions in replying to the current journal . Thanks.
